Whangarei property buyers are vying for the keys to Jennian Homes’ Display Home of the Year, now up for sale in the city’s newest subdivision, Kotātā Heights.
The Jennian Homes Northland build was named national winner at the annual Jennian Homes conference this month, selected by independent judges from Resene New Zealand.
Northland franchise owners Jody and Brett Yakas are delighted with the win, boosted by a second accolade on the awards night as finalists for Franchisee of the Year.
According to the judges, the Yakas’ winning Kotātā Heights property stood out for its design, workmanship and styling, with Jody attributing their success to having a professional and experienced team who take a huge amount of pride in their work.
“Because we’re a family owned business, our team works really closely together and we take great pleasure in building every home we build.”
The beautifully appointed four-bedroom home features a combination of brick and weatherboard cladding, master with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, double garage, spacious galley kitchen and separate entertaining lounge. The judges made particular mention of the two children’s bedrooms which they said would ‘provide an immediate attraction to the entire family’.
“We guarantee every customer a comprehensive Masterbuilders fixed price contract and with so much demand in the building industry at the moment, this really helps us to stand apart,” says Yakas.
There is continued pressure on the housing market in Whangarei, with new property developments such as Kotātā Heights proving welcome relief. Jennian Homes currently has a number of homes under construction in the new Morningside subdivision, with several more in the planning.
The median house price in Northland at March 2019 was $500,000 influenced by a large increase in sales in the $750,000- $999,999 bracket, and up 9.9% on March 2018 according to the Real Estate Insitute of New Zealand.
‘Northland is a great place to live,” continued Yakas. “We see more and more customers moving here from out of the region because it offers a great lifestyle choice. It’s a great privilege for us to have families trusting us to build their homes.”
