Manawatu Community News

Jennian Manawatu sponsored the Property Brokers Race to the Brewery annual event to raise funds for Relay for Life. However this year they also donated to the Rescue helicopter and nine very deserving young people who received money towards their sporting careers.

The team at Manawatu went along to the presentation and had a good chat with an amazing young boy – Maraki Aumua who is off to play for the under 13 NZ basketball team in America,

Maraki is quite the overachiever; He was the recipient of all the major awards at Ross Intermediate last year, Class student of the year, Pasifika student of the year, Maori achiever of the year, sportsperson of the year, and Year 8 student of the year. He was the recipient of the Sir Peter Blake Leadership award at Ross intermediate and the list goes on. This scholarship is to help Maraki compete in Las Vegas USA as a member of the 13U NZ Basketball academy team.
